My "secret" engagement photography formula usually involves talking a bit with the couple (or a lot--haha) and taking a few photos in between. That process was made extra enjoyable when I was hanging out with Kari and Ryan. I received the treat of getting to know them a little better (they both have great wit and senses of humor) and observe them enjoy each other's company. I'm really looking forward to their wedding later this fall and wanted to share a little of what we came up with on a beautiful spring day in the meantime.

Sean and Helen (who you may remember from their engagement session earlier) were married in a joyous celebration which featured plenty of culture, positive energy, and familiar faces (for the couple and myself). Quite a few people turned out to see them start their new life together. Cheers to these two wonderful people and here's a set of selected images:

I had been looking forward to Janelle and Thomas' wedding because we really hit it off when we first met. I was expecting the day to run really smoothly and that's exactly how it played out. They are also Black Eyed Peas fans like myself so that was certainly a sign we'd get along well. ;)
They were married at St. Anne Catholic Church and their reception was at The Plaza Downtown—my first time at both locations.
Here is a small sample of the day's images:

A few months ago I traveled to the heart of Who Dat nation to share an awesome day with one of my favorite couples, Dami + Niyi. Since they are going to be married soon, it's time to get these photos onto the blog!
Though these two live in New York now, New Orleans is very special to them. Dami was in school there but moved to Houston as a result of Hurricane Katrina where she met Niyi.
We spent the day hitting several spots in the Big Easy including areas where the graffiti artist Banksy had been busy. It was my first exposure to his work and I was surprised at how well-known the artist is after doing more research on him. It goes without saying we had to incorporate a bit of his work into the session. :)
We continued our tour of the city where I followed them as they 2nd-lined, hit the French Quarter (where we enjoyed beignets at Cafe du Monde), and finished the night on Canal street.
Here are a few images from their awesome engagement session:

I'll be documenting their two wedding ceremonies very soon so be on the lookout for those images.

Charletha and Terence brought me out to Hermann Park Golf Course and treated me to something different--a golf themed engagement session. I know little about the sport--it even took a while for me to figure out how to drive the golf cart I was using to trail behind them--haha. As they played a few holes and had some fun, I took some photos in between.
After the sun had set, we were able to create some photos that reflected the evening mood.
Here are a few favorites:

I'm looking forward to their wedding later this summer so this couple will be back on the blog soon. :)
